It all began with Gino Schiano-Moriello, a passionate young chef who immersed himself in the art of cooking under the guidance of his family. Gino's father, Giorgio, played a pivotal role in shaping his culinary journey, imparting his extensive knowledge gained from years of experience in Brooklyn restaurants and serving as a chef for an esteemed Italian cruise line. At just sixteen, Gino took a bold step by relocating to America, bringing with him a treasure trove of cherished family recipes that had been passed down through generations.
In 2004, after honing his skills for two decades, Gino realized his dream by opening the inaugural Taste of Italy location. Drawing on his father’s beloved New York recipes, he quickly expanded the business, launching a second location merely four years later. Taste of Italy is renowned for its delectable offerings, which include a wide array of New York and Sicilian pizzas, as well as a selection of beloved Italian dishes.
